Dr. Sebastian Mejia graduated from La Salle University in Bogota, Colombia in 2010 and moved shortly thereafter to Orange County, CA. He completed a rotating internship at the Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group (VMSG) in Ventura, CA.
After this he completed a surgical internship at VCA ARECA in Mesa, AZ and two additional sub-specialty internships, one involving orthopedic clinical trials and the other in surgical oncology research at Colorado State University, during which he published multiple manuscripts as a Primary Author. He then finally completed a small animal surgical residency at the University of Missouri. He holds Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons - Small Animal.
Dr. Mejia’s professional interests include advanced orthopedic surgery, angular limb deformities, 3D printing for pre-surgical planning, spinal fractures, surgical oncology and complex reconstructive surgery. He lives with his cat, Dr. Gonzo and his 2 dogs, Kaya and Baba Voss. In his free time, he enjoys working out, reading, riding his motorcycle, traveling and snorkeling.
